I just sort of won NaNoWriMo!
(That's a challenge to write 50,000 words of original fiction on a new novel in November. That's an average of 1666 words a day — not trivial!)
I did not actually formally *do* NaNoWriMo this year, though. I didn't sign up for it, and I thought I was going to be too busy and too idea-less and all for it.
But I got hit by an idea (http://sythyry.livejournal.com/579587.html), and I did some plotting, and I started writing on the train on November 10.
And I kinda got into it.
I just hit 50140 words this afternoon. That's 2638 words a day on average.
(I estimate the book will be a normal novel length, maybe 80,000 words.)
And I'm pretty happy with the story, too!
(I'd like another reader or two if anyone is interested)
